What is Upward Bound?
Upward Bound is a dynamic academic enrichment program designed to recruit and assist students from families with limited financial resources and whose parents do not have a bachelor's degree.
Why participate in UB?
Upward Bound has a proven track record of program graduates enrolling in college and succeeding in college. In addition, upward bound provides the following services free of charge: College-prep classes, Tutoring, College Tours, Culture Excursion, Academic Advising, Stipends ($8-10 weekly), Financial Aid advising, Career Counseling. We are working hard to establish Texas Tech Upward Bound as a National Model of outstanding college preparatory services.
How UB Works?
Academic year component: During the school year, Upward Bound sessions are held each Saturday 8am- 12:30pm. Summer component: UB students live in university's residence hall for one summer session (approximately 6 weeks).
